Continue reading »]]> Today is the day. The first day in the countdown to 40. I’m not sure how I’m going to handle this day next year but for now, I’m doing ok. As part of my birthday present, Melissa and I took Madeline down to Orlando to visit the in-laws this past weekend – at Disney World! We figured Madeline was old enough to enjoy the experience and we were right – she had a blast! She gutted it out with the heat, the crowds and the boredom of standing in long lines and never complained once. It had been at least 10 years since Melissa and I visited the Rat so it was a fun experience for the two of us as well.

We can’t wait to go back when she’s a little older and take her on all the really fun stuff like Thunder Mountain, etc.

Continue reading »]]> Another year - another birthday come and gone (8/22/72).   The unfairness of it all – the older I get, the quicker each year seems to fly by.  I guess my accelerated return to the diapers from whence I came is balanced by getting to watch my little girl grow up – I can’t believe she’ll be a year old in less than 4 months!

Anyway, this year’s birthday was perfect – dinner with M&M at a small hole-in-the-wall resturant somewhere in the bowels of Poncey-Highland, icecream cake at the house, and a couple of cool gifts in no particular order:

1. A pair of shirts from [The Longboard House]
2. Apple’s [ iPhone Bluetooth Headset]
3. Factory Renewed [Tivo HD DVR]
4. Contour’s [iPhone Hardskin case] – Mel convinced an Apple employee to let her buy one before general release!
5. A pair of [PMAGs by Magpul] for my AR15

Yup. A great birthday indeed.
